First of all, I want to say I love your Sheikah Champion and Sheikah Champion Descendant/Sage. Second of all, is Vah Kuragi based on a cat? That's what it looks like to me, but I just wanted to be sure.

And yes, Vah Kuragi is based on a big cat. I mostly had panthers and pumas in mind in terms of design.

your one piece art is amazing! And it made me want to ask, are you into other anime’s like Attack on Titan? I think Mikasa and Levi would look great in your style! (No pressure or anything just a thought) <3

As for anime's, Attack on Titan was actually one of the first few I watched when I started getting into it legitimately as a form of entertainment. I haven't drawn Mikasa or Levi in a long while probably since middle school OOF.

I've watched a lot of anime's from my teen years to adulthood, and I have a tendency to lean towards the more action/shonen genre bc sumn abt action animation hits different in my brain lol so I do kind of like the animes that fall within the genra Attack and Titan is in—depending on the writing of course. Though I like a few more lowkey animes too that aren't all about and fighting to the death or fighting for your life 😭

It's a dumb question; but how do you manage to enjoy and love a character that is clearly the fandom's punching bag and butt of the jokes? It's been slightly an odd experience for me, but as much as I try to avoid negativity... it's kinda hard to ignore.

This is something that I have a relatively easy time dealing with because I simply ✨️don't care✨️ that people have bad takes bc people are entitled to their wrong opinion lmao. And most times I don't like interacting with fandoms because of issues like the negativity and stuff you mentioned. I've had my handful of obnoxious morons who would not let jokes and stuff rest🙄

I've learned that if I enjoy/love a character that isn't exactly beloved or they're always just some punching bag to the fandom, most times it's because there's a mischaracterization or misinterpretation of the character (from what I've noticed most times) or that the character does/doesn't fit into some cliché archetype. And most times when the jokes are overdone, it's just out of disrespect anyways so it's just white noise with really no substance.

Ofc every character is subject to criticism of their actions/writing and stuff, and that's always valid. I think every fictional character should be analyzed and dissected bc it's fun and it can lead to a better understanding of story/writing/character etc. But there's always a fine line between being playful and just being an ass.

Really, it's up to you how you can ignore the negativity, it'll always be there, but it shouldn't effect how much you enjoy a character. You like that character for reasons that are unique to you, and your expiriences. They're special to you, and no idiot on the internet or whatever should dictate that. And if a fandom as a whole treats your blorbo like a punching bag bc of shits and giggles, they can stfu🥰

But that's just my take on it.

I’ve always loved how satisfyingly grainy some of the textures in your art is, especially during your December prompt series, I was curious what brush you use for your coloring/shading? ❤️

I usually use my own custom brushes mixed with the Krita preset brushes depending on what I'm feeling for how I want to render.

I do favor textured brushes, but I'm kind of particular on how I like them to look for lineart so I usually just use my own custom ones for that reason. As for rendering/shading, I lean towards cell shading, but if I want texture with the cell shading I either go with a brush with no opacity with a bit of grain to give it that crunchiness to the edge. And for the more softer, more shaded pieces I have a few standard brushes from Krita I like;

(I use version 4.4.3 of Krita so idk if these presets are on the newer or older versions but I'll list them anyways lmao) -I use Chalk Grainy more often than not, and usually just change the brush size for smaller details alongside my own custom textured brushes.

-Ink-4 Pen Rough is also a brush I use sometimes for lineart/cell shading.

-I like to use Charcoal Pencil Medium/Thin for minor details while keeping the grainy texture Ofc just like any artist, I experiment and change up what I use whenever I feel like, but these were some of the main ones I used for the December Prompt series (that weren't my own custom brushes)

Hi, so I just wanted to say that I am OBSESSED with your botw Sheikah champion OC!! Yarei's design is so awesome and it's sparked all sorts of ideas for me.

Like if there was a Sheikah Champion in botw, what would their divine beast be like? I had the idea of it being a giant spider divine beast called Vah Gohma (after the spider boss from OOT) that would climb along the cliffs and valleys surrounding Kakariko Village. I just think it would be a fun callback to previous Zelda games, and now I'm sad that we never got something like it in the original game. :(

But yeah, keep up the good work and keep being awesome! Also remember to drink some water and take care of yourself!

You are so confident with your line work I can’t even 😭 also beaks, how do you manage Revali’s beak so well? I always struggle with it in certain angles…

Lineart is my favorite thing about drawing most of the time so I give my lineart a lot of tlc whenever I line stuff lmaooo

As for beaks, I've drawn Revali's face so many times I've kind of figured out the ways I like to draw him. Not to say I don't stuggle! Sometimes the perspective of his beak is Hard™️. I often use my beloved Revali amiibo as a makeshift maquette and turn his little face into the direction I'm trying to get or I find some miscellaneous photos of birds as reference.

Though if I can't get what I want, I personally just need to sketch the volume of his beak several times before I get the right feel and shape.

I don't have a set formula or anything and my way of drawing may not be suitable for everyone. But I would say with is to keep in mind of the volume of his beak and what angle/tilt his head is. But here's a general breakdown of how you can think about it:
