Roworx fitness group rowing instructor profile featuring George Pirod. George started playing baseball with the influence of the Dodgers when he was younger and then he switched to tennis when he was 8 years old successfully winning some national tournaments. When George turned 17 he started doing downhill mountain bike winning 5 national championships and one panamerican cup. He moved to Long Beach 5 years ago and but sadly found out that he had diabetes. George was bummed out but he was introduced to rowing when he attended an indoor rowing class with Jack Nunn that totally changed his life. George lost 50 pounds and felt better than ever. Rowing changed his life and throughout all the sports he’s experienced George attributes rowing to one of the most gratifying workouts of his life. George loves the camaraderie during his Roworx group fitness rowing classes and considers them as family. Just after 7 months rowing he was 2nd place at the beach sprints competition and then after 2 years he made it to the world championships.
