ROWLEY — A meeting where backers of a $60 million racetrack wanted to present their project to selectmen and the public had to be postponed due to safety concerns.

The meeting Monday was scheduled for the auditorium on the second floor of town hall.

But with a standing-room-only crowd packed into the hall, Fire Chief James Broderick announced that the occupancy limit of 174 had been reached.

ROWLEY — Depending on how tonight’s vote goes, Robert Merry could be the last person to resign from the town’s board of selectmen.

All men, the board will discuss tonight (Jan. 28) whether it should take on a more gender neutral name such as “select board.”
