Tonight at 8:45 pm will be exactly 5 months since my father passed away. He spent the last 2 weeks of his life in the hospital and all he wanted to do was come home, eat a steak and have some ice cream. Unfortunately that never happened. He lost his first and last battle to stage 4 lung cancer which was caused directly from 9/11. He was a FF with ENGINE 156 aka BROADWAY EXPRESS and was on duty that morning. He made it home alive and well... To lose his life almost 15 yrs after the 9/11 attacks

ENGINE 156 aka BROADWAY EXPRESS’ CAPTAIN is honouring my Mother with a brand new FDNY helmet on the morning of my Fathers funeral. .. Thanking her for the years of hard work and dedication that my father put into the FDNY and into his community, as well. Running towards the danger on 9/11, saving and rescuing as many lives as possible. Sadly, 16 years later he lost his first and LAST battle to 4th stage lung cancer which was caused directly from 9/11. #MyDadMyHeroFDNY9037
