Hawkeye & Mustang - maybe in another world things would’ve been different
i need to get this off my chest: do you guys ever just have that one fictional character that, for no particular reason, they have you just in a dreadful evil diabolical chokehold? yeah thats me with jean havoc (if you didn’t already read my pinned post)

and heavy on no particular reason because (if you have not watched FMA) this man is a supporting character, albeit a very memorable and loved one. in fact in brotherhood he disappears for the second half of the show but does make an appearance towards the end (oh promised day havoc i LOVE you). (and i also love that he was still able to help and contribute instead of just being written off because of his injury. he was still important and that makes me love him and the writers more).
i’ve also always found it interesting that mustang considers havoc his knight, because his chess metaphors are really important to him and his plans to climb ranks. they’re an insight to how he sees his team. havoc being his knight implies that mustang sees him as a protector, someone loyal who moves in strategic ways to protect the king from danger. thats a lot of trust and i love that detail because it shows that havoc, outside of being a flirt or brief comedic relief, is in fact a good soldier. he’s one of the few privies to mustang’s goal of becoming fuhrer.
and btw, whoever it was that decided to JACK UP jean’s arms from 03 to 09 i owe you EVERYTHING 😭 and this man has such a small fanbase guys please. i need him biblically
