where would be a good site to get one of these guys ?
Well, the answer to that is it depends where you’re based but the truth is, these guys are not all that common. In fact, the mother who was the same morph visually (no recessive axanthic) was a world’s first (and the only one in the clutch) just a few years ago so there’s probably still not that many of these around honestly.
I don’t know that anyone has explicitly produced the animal carrying the axanthic gene also if that’s something that interests you.
Drop us a message and we’ll see what we can do to help. This one specifically will be staying with us but it does have siblings (More of which will be posted in the next few days) that will be available from us
The hatchlings are here from clutch 1 and they are very small! 2 axanthics and one 100% het axanthic WildType The smallest, now named Contigo, is super clean! Really pleased with how reduced it came out. Definitely a keeper regardless of sex =] The other Axanthic is Gustavo and the WildType is Gonzalez! This year's season is running very late. We only produced two clutches and the second is now on day 66 so we're hoping to see them out any day now! Welcome to the family little guys =]
chondropythons said: That’s without a doubt the prettiest pin I’ve ever seen.
Why thank you kind stranger. Here is a photo of her glowing in the last photoshoot I had before she laid. As you can see, she is also a most beauteous axanthic though, not every photo demonstrates that too well.
She is looking forward to meeting her baby snoots just as soon as they arrive. 8 eggs on the way to hatching all healthy and shiny in just under a month, we hope!
Paying particular attention to the heads, the contrast in this girl at the moment should hopefully be obvious as it's extremely hard to catch on camera without bothering her too much.
The blue background was taken in July, post shed. The black background was taken tonight. She is extremely light at the moment and in person, the difference is staggering!
"They Glow Before They Go" as they say and this girl has been paired exclusively with our axanthic mojave, poss het hypo boy.
We're very excited for the possible outcomes!
I think you need to understand that a lot of life has to do with money, this world lives off money. Now you keep assuming that everyone is just trying, or has started breeding is only in it for the money. Obviously if someone wants to breed ball pythons, they'll need money to keep paying for food/care items. I'm not saying that they need to sell the offspring but that's why 90% of the people breed, no one has room for the offspring once they're full grown. Things revolve around money these days.
I don’t need to understand anything, but thanks for the feedback.
People who follow this blog who specifically want to breed for money need to understand that I have no interest in helping them.
If someone says they breed, I have an open mind. If people want tips on “how to get into breeding”, my answer is, “Don’t get into breeding. Get into keeping snakes. That’s the hobby you should care about. If you don’t care about keeping snakes, you shouldn’t be breeding them.”
People who ask others what they should breed/buy next, in my opinion, either do not have enough knowledge to think about breeding or don’t have the passion they claim to. The answer to the question should ALWAYS be ‘something that -you- want’, so if you’re asking, you either don’t know enough about what you’re looking for to selectively breed appropriately, so you sure as hell shouldn’t be breeding or there’s nothing you actually want/want to produce so, what’s your motive for breeding? It isn’t for the love of keeping them or it wouldn’t matter what you bred and it isn’t for reaching a specific breeding goal…So, yes, this often leaves the conclusion “Money.”.I’ve been doing this a long time. Motivations are always there and they’re often misguided.
You’ll note that our last response, in summary was “If what you want is money, forget it. We won’t help you. If what you want is advice, how are we supposed to know what you like? If you don’t know what you like/want, don’t breed”
If you want to breed ANY animal and you are depending on the sale of offspring to maintain keeping the ones you have, you’re going to be very poor, very fast and you’re probably going to sell on those animals quicker than you can count them.
I genuinely don’t care how many people breed for money. If you’re one of them or thinking about becoming one and you’re looking for PROBREEDINGTIPSHOWDOIGETINTOTHIS, you’re barking up the wrong tree because you won’t find any help here.
Independant research. Passion. If you have those, you don’t need to ask “What should I buy to breed?”
If you have a husbandry question, if you want help with your animals or you just want to shoot the breeze, our inbox is open and we’ll be waiting with some cocoa and a smile.
If you want to know what to buy in order to breed the next big thing, the door is over there. Please don’t let it hit you on the way out, the paintwork repairs aren’t worth the hassle.
No one due for a feed tonight and I'm still sick so here's some photos of a couple of babes post total clean out. Mir, the lesser has just finished shedding. Marcy, the super pastel orange ghost is just starting.
