Brash words sent an initial tingle coursing its way up the vampire's spine, a sharp tilt of the head casting little more beyond that probing, if not bewildered stare back to the other man.

It would serve him justly if Vanilla were to strike him upside his skull for the advantageous inquiry. Unfortunately, it would be far too predictable of an outrage. He would angle to more haughtily fold his arms over his chest, a quirk of the brows projected in an attempt to swipe that moxie from the older man's features.

"What a crude man you are -- Have you no shame?"

He would forbid a single fiber of wavering from his tongue, his hair jerking with a confident tilt of the head while light would spark intangibly beneath those stony features. Intentions or presumptions were near impossible to unravel.

"Is that what you deem as suitable courting?"

“I hope you know that committing yourself to me means doing it wholeheartedly. Your mind, body, and soul belongs to DIO, and DIO only. I can tell when people are not sincere, and I deal with them accordingly.” He steps closer to the other, his lips tugging into a smile. His eyes, however, said something different. 

“Perhaps I will believe you if you kill a Joestar and bring me the body. Preferably @jojoingjoseph, or even @platinvmlegacy but anyone will do.”

The name-calling was only an attempt to gather Cannolo’s attention so that he could look slightly to the left leaving his jaw in prime position. It was never intended as a warning, not really giving the other enough time to react as Prosciutto landed a straight fist, punching him out of his chair. 

Even with the knowledge of what true scum the Earth could produce onto this world, Prosciutto could only truly wish hell upon a select few people. Cannolo is starting to appear like he could make this list.

“Stop grinning.” he spat out viciously. The mere look on the analyst's face was grating. “You’re toying with us. You’re making dangerous enemies.”

“sometimes i wish i could...” fugo’s way of telling a joke, but  he thought about maybe playing his personality a bit different from this moment on. though he never really thought that he came off as the type of person people would readily confide into. it’d avoid conversations like these. you’d be surprised at how many things fugo didn’t want to know about a person. “i’m 16, just like you’re 85 and still complaining about it.” but fugo digressed. 

“it’s someone that you’d normally hate but you’re in love with them.” the classic trope; found in too many fiction books fugo hoarded back in his room. he wanted to laugh at murolo’s award winning smile.  “when’s the last time you’ve done something for them? without the intention of trying to romance them.”

[ @reasonablydrawn-purplehaze​ Actually has a standswap of All Along the Watchtower which are 52-53 rats, and I pondered the idea of Dolly being devoured by a swarm of rats after their stand was shredded like a leaf.

It’s a brutal but fitting end, though I have no abilites to draw or write such brutality, so I will allow the thought to hang.]

The presence of a voice struck with the sensitivity of a switch, the creature's head practically snapping around to fix the other with wild, ferocious intensity.

Even from the darkness, it would have been impossible to miss the thick treacle of red painting from his jaws, down to the base of his collarbone; the picture was only made more damning with the presence of the mangled body of a woman clutched tightly in his grasp, long hair obscuring her lifeless features.

The nature of the words were difficult to grasp in such a situation, the threat of being cornered enough to ruffle Vanilla beyond a picture of recognition. Clutching his limp victim tighter, bared fangs would part in a fierce hiss. To attack or defend was always the question, one that held him long enough to pull at the strings of recognition towards the other. Perhaps it was the hat that stood for such a clear image, although, it did little to soothe him, broad back tense with the hold of a string; he could lunge at any provocation. A swift tongue traced over his lips, snarl tugging at the bridge of his nose.

"... You should've stayed quiet--"

Curious was his focus, head whipping around immediately under a flowing reel of locks. A glance was cast in the other man's direction at his comment, translucent eyes filtering a steady reflection from the scarce street lighting around them.

He had heard of the phrase before, one associated with times far exceeding either of their lives from today. An implication of the deepest hour of the night, ruled by creatures and fables that found power in a world left unguarded. He would have dismissed such commentary, although, the vampire himself perhaps stood as a testament to it. He hummed softly in response, thoughtful, but not desperate for insight -- after all, it was simply a phrase.

"This early? Hm-"

He toyed wryly in a low murmur, casting his attention shortly to the desolate streets. He needn't access a watch to know it was deep into the early hours of the morning, the sky undoubtedly painted black for a good handful of hours remaining. Indeed, it left him empowered to the slumbering world, with only stragglers such as the Italian himself breaking from such a mould. No doubt, this man would be exhausted come daybreak from his uncanny hours.

"What are you implying? I don't suppose you're a witch? Why do you linger at such an hour?"

Perhaps it was the other's way of challenging Vanilla's own odd placement on desolate streets, where nothing but stragglers would rear their heads. It would be just what the vampire was looking for.
