Suggestion: while sidescrolling v top down is your choice, you could alwasys like. Do both. Like have androman walk around town top down to talk to characters and then sidescroll down a forest path with little to no characters to talk to and focus on scenery or something. Like im just. Throwing this out there I dunno nothing bout videa games.

that’s actually what i was planning, certain areas that don’t have much going on and could benefit from parallaxing backgrounds will be sidescrolling, but most areas will be top down
