Writing I like to write poetry, short stories, and essays on the things I love and is my way of expressing myself

Aesthetics I love different types of aesthetics and they're intricate ways of presenting their unique styles

Fanfiction I love to read fanfiction and indie prose, especially as a small writer myself

Fandoms I'm into a lot of fandoms, the ones I find myself in are the following: The OSC, BFDI and II especially; Glitch production shows such as Murder Drones, TADC & Meta Runner; HDG and Alien Stage

History I'm really into history, especially European medieval history and Austronesian history. I really like the nobility and upper-class and nature-aligned culture of the enlightenment and romanticism periods and they inspire me in my works.

Linguistics I am a language nerd, and I love studying languages and making languages of my own

At my school there was a classroom full of rubber ducks, which sparked my love for the little guys (I have like 10 but I wanna get more). So it became kind of a thing for my family to call me Ducky and say that I was collecting my siblings. So when I made a [tumblr] account I used that nickname! The doesstuff part comes from the fact that I am indeed doing stuff right here on [tumblr]!

My nickname in French, is 'Manou'. And Cornwall (I originally wanted to be called the 'Duchess of Cornwall') in French is 'Cornouaille' (there's also a whole ass Breton festival I had to do a research project on). So I thought that I could make up a place name for my imaginary duchy and then just mashed the two together and created Manouaille, which I made my username for this blog.

Since the heavy rains started, bushes and tall grass have grown all around our homes.

These bushes have become home to mosquitoes and are putting our families in danger of malaria.

Bear in mind it's my second ever time writing a poem so...

Jealousy

Jealousy is defined as a complex emotion involving fear of loss, resentment, and insecurity, often triggered by a perceived threat to something we value.

Jealousy is an ugly thing.

Jealousy is a seven-year-old girl watching another little girl hold her dad's hand, laughing as though she's always belonged there.

Jealousy is an eight-year-old girl watching a friend group laugh together while she sits alone in the distance.

Jealousy is a nine-year-old girl stepping into her friend's house for the first time and realising just how much she doesn't have.

Jealousy is a ten-year-old girl looking at her friend's body with admiration, then looking at her own with disgust for the very first time.

Jealousy is an eleven-year-old girl discovering she is no longer the best at the only thing she ever excelled at.

Jealousy is twelve-year-old me trying so hard to make everyone like her until she no longer liked herself.

Jealousy is thirteen-year-old me pouring every ounce of herself into being exceptional, only to watch friends reach the same finish line without ever seeming to try.

Jealousy is fourteen-year-old me having everything I need, and more, yet still mourning everything I cannot have.

"Jealousy is an ugly emotion," I used to tell myself.

"Their win is not my loss."

I repeated those words until I almost believed them.

But every now and then, the thoughts return.

Why do they get to have this?

Why don't I?

What did I do to deserve less?

I wish I could silence those questions. I wish I could simply be content.

Jealousy is so much more than a textbook definition or an "ugly thing".

Jealousy is a little girl who will always long for more.

Jealousy is a no longer little girl working to have everything her younger self always wanted.
