Empty Horizon Pt. 2
Investigating the caves in Waterfall bore no results either, his Sunset wasn’t to be found. So far the only trace of beloved was the tattered band still clutched in his hand. As expected, though Wander had still dared to hope, a flickering flame, threatening to be snuffed out with every failure.
But the amalgam wasn’t about to give up yet. Still more than half the Underground to comb through, and the next destination was bound to bear fruit of one sort or another. A single trace, just one clue is all he needed.
As loathe as he was to be anywhere near his former prison, a visit to Alphys’ Lab was likely to be of assistance. After a moment spent steeling himself for the jaunt into unpleasant territories, the amalgam set forth.
A few clicks and whirs then the elevator door opened, out walking a unsettled Wander. The lower labs were empty, except for their usual inhabitants. Alphys wasn’t down there either, which was of some relief, but neither was Tarma. Much like the visit with his old labmates, that excursion evoked mixed feelings.
One thing at a time though. The amalgamations can wait a little longer.
Still, that wasn’t his only reason for coming to this place, and the confirmation that the scientist was indeed absent from the premises made the goopman more willing to try his next idea. His gaze turns to the large screen and its controls. The Royal Scientist’s surveillance system. Handy when you need to quickly scan the Underground for a specific person.
The very thing Wander tried his damnedest to avoid, and here he was about to take full advantage of it. He prodded at the controls, splitting the screen into multiple feeds and started scanning through them. Snowdin, Waterfall, Hotland, the CORE, and the Capital, cameras strategically placed in all areas to watch the main paths.
There had to be at least a glimpse of Tarma somewhere...
