I'm not really sure about anything right now.
I always knew my family used to be well off but not to this extent.
From what I understand, we had some British(?) royalty in our family. My mum and I were going through some documents, paintings and photos in our storage and we found a bunch of letters sent back and forth from a few Dukes and Lady's in our family. Most recent was Lady Caroline Montague Douglas Scott, which is just crazy.
We also found a few paintings from the Royal Ontario Museum from 1920 which I'm just going to assume was stolen, some photos of Stonehenge from 1870 and a 20x17 book of paintings signed by A.J. Casson from the group of seven. There are also some photos of my great great great grandpa who was the Grand Master Mason for Ontario.
My mum and I want to know more about this bit of our history, does anyone know where we should go in order to find out more information about this?
I honestly do not know enough about this and I'm really just making an assumption without any background information except for those letters and dates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
