Occupation: Quiet little engineer of the movie series

First Appearance: "Star Trek" (2009)

Summary: These diminutive humanoids are somewhat reclusive. Peaceful, they are absolute masters of subtle body language, and seldom resort to verbal communication. They tend to be talented engineers, and have a decent relationship with the Federation, though they are not a member species. Interestingly, unlike most humanoids, which raise their body temperature in response to an illness, the Roylans make their bodies intensely acidic. This has the side-effect of giving them amazingly corrosive sneezes that can burn through metal. Those who work with them report that they have a knack for finding their way into places they shouldn't, and... GET DOWN FROM THERE!
