It was spring when Yuuichirou met a peculiar person during lunch time. It was mere coincidence since Yuuichirou wanted to have some time to himself and he thought that the rooftop was the perfect place. However, he never expected to bask in the view of a blond male student playing a violin with so much passion. The music he made was filled with emotions, and his hands and body moved smoothly to accompany it. The blond was a musician in his element.
Unfortunately, his small performance didn’t last very long cause he immediately caught Yuuichirou staring at him. His violin piece abruptly ended with a slight squeaking sound while blue eyes turned to look at his unexpected visitor.
“Ah...” Yuuichirou gaped before his face bloomed red in embarrassment from being caught. “I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to stare! No, I mean, I wasn’t expecting anyone to be here at all and I just--”
“... It’s you.”
Yuuichirou blinked at what the other just said and he gave the blond a confused look. “Huh?”
“It’s you.” The other repeated firmly before he took quick strides over to Yuuichirou which surprised the latter. “You’re Yuuichirou Amane, the star pianist of all Shinjuku and the one to ever play Étude Op. 25, No. 11 by Chopin.”
At the mention of his previous stardom, Yuuichirou’s breathed stopped for a minute. Dread mixed with shock slowly began to take over his being that he compromised by clenching his hands into fists.
“H-How did you know that?” He asked with a hint of rasp in his voice from how he started to hyperventilate. “You... N-No, no one can possibly know who I am or who I was. I’ve long abandoned that career.“
Blue eyes blinked unfazed. It seemed that the other knew about Yuuichirou’s history and was rather calm about it.
“I know,” came the simple reply. “After all, I’ve attended to each one of your recitals and never once missed a news about you. You were a role model to me when it comes to music, and I’m very honored to meet you in person.”
A role model, me?
Yuuichirou was in disbelief that he was able to influence a person during his former career as a pianist, especially to someone as gorgeous as the one before him. It was really unbelievable.
“I think you’re mistaken...” Yuuichirou politely declined. “I’m not him anymore. The person you looked up to is gone. I’m sorry.”
The blond was silent for a bit before he shook his head. “No, he’s still here. I can feel it.”
Yuuichirou quickly became agitated with the hopeful reply. “Are you deaf or just ignorant?! I already told you that he’s gone! I’m not a pianist anymore! I failed to be one! Why can’t you understand that?! I’m just a nobody now!”
The other shook his head again. “That’s not true.”
“And what proof do you have to prove it?” Yuuichirou challenged which made the blond hum in thought.
“... Tomorrow, in the Shinjuku Grand Stadium.“ He began. “I’ll be competing there with a piano accompanist for our school, and I want you to be there. Please.“
Yuuichirou was taken aback by the other’s determination. His blue eyes especially lit up in resolve as if he was already expecting Yuuichirou to be there and watch his performance. The emotions that radiated so bright and innocent captivated Yuuichirou, and before he even knew it, he was already nodding his head in agreement.
“Sure... I guess I can...” He said slowly as if it was the only thing he could say at the moment.
A smile curved on the blond’s face before he bowed slightly in politeness. “I look forward to it, Amane-kun.”
“Eh, Yuu is fine.” Yuuichirou suggested with a small wave of his hand.
“Yuu-kun, then...” The other corrected himself as he straightened up. “I’m Mikaela Shindo of Class 12-4. It’s nice to make your acquaintance.”
“Likewise...”
Mikaela nodded in acknowledgement before the school bell rang, signifying the end of lunch break.
“Oh, shoot! Lunch is already over?! I gotta break for it!” Yuuichirou shrieked in horror and he quickly opened a wrapped sandwich from the plastic bag he was carrying while Mikaela turned back to retrieve his violin case silently.
“Ah, hey, have you eaten lunch?” Yuuichirou asked in the midst of his chewing.
“Don’t worry. I’m not hungry.” Mikaela answered bluntly as he closed his violin case shut.
Yuuichirou made an unsure sound. “Eh... That can’t be right. Have this, then.”
A melon bread package was tossed on Mikaela’s direction which the other caught out of reflex. Mikaela was bit stunned when Yuuichirou offered him some bread despite what he just said a while ago about not being hungry.
“You don’t have to, Yuu-kun...” Mikaela muttered while he stared down at the bread.
“I insist.” Yuuichirou said before he finished up his sandwich. “It won’t be good if a student from Guren-sensei’s class faints from hunger because he didn’t eat lunch.”
A small blush formed on Mikaela’s cheeks before he reached out to curl some strands of his hair, displaying a shy side of him. “... Thank you.”
Yuuichirou grinned widely. “Don’t mention it. See you in the competition, Mikaela-san.”
Mikaela nodded as he watched Yuuichirou turn away and descend down the stairs from the rooftop, unbeknownst that Mikaela’s heart was beating a bit rapidly now that he had met his idol.
((Human Django is most likely going to be a thing for this account. So there's the normal, malicious skeleton one and then his fleshy yet devious disguise. Input would be nice but he'd be the same except he would be more clever on keeping his identity a secret. Thoughts?))
Kafei was embarrassed, leaving the scene. He knew he did well apologizing, he just hoped he hadn't completely ruined it with Jasdae. He hoped they could as least be friends.
Walking down the path into the park was nice. The smell of petrichor filled his lungs. He hoped it would clear his head but his mind was a bit muddled. He was disappointed in himself. Coming to this new land and thinking it would be easy. He was foolish.
The sound of the fountain nearby caught his attention, his ears flicking at the sound. He walked off the path towards it and carefully took off his shoes so he could stick his feet into the water. He sat on the bank and dipped his feet in. It was cold but it was refreshing. He sat with his knees perched up and he lazily rested his arms on them, his chin on the crook of his arm.
Home was miles amongst miles away. He had walked so far for a new life and yet this life may not be what he was looking for. What did I expect? To become successful by changing scenery? No, there's a lot more to it than that. I need to find a job and then be able to afford a place to stay. Kafei huffed and lay fell onto the ground, forgetting that there was a large dip from where it met the fountain. He rubbed his head after the impact. Hopefully he wouldn't bruise. He kept his feet in still; the bottom of his pants became soaked with cold water. I can't afford to start relationships with people if I don't have a penny to my name. I had no money back home either. That was 'father's' money. I just have to figure this out. I'm only starting out after all. Kafei stared up at the sky. It was dark and the stars were bright. Orion's belt shone proudly.
Kafei's eyes started to close. Everything will be better in the morning. Goddesses help me. Kafei nodded off to sleep, the bottom of his pants soaked right through to his bone. Hopefully a guard wouldn't disturb his sleep.
((Because I can, I’m gonna tie this into the date scene that was RNG’d before. :D ))
His fingers brushed along the back of Nakara’s hands gently as he took in the question. “Windows to the soul? Your eyes are as vast as the night sky, every glimmer a mystery worth exploring.”
He knew she was bemused, as the corners of her lips were upturned. Whether or not it was genuine enjoyment of his company, or whether she found the situation absurd was a question to be solved later. Or… maybe not so later.
Leaning in, he made his move. He took ample precautions before reaching this point, asking for some tonic from Professor Light the day prior. Mixing the tonic with wax, he had made a simple coating, it also worked wonders on dry, chapped lips.
Raising his hand gently, he rested it on Nakara’s cheek, showing his intentions, and continued his approach. Tilting his head he pressed his lips tenderly against her own, his other hand remaining, holding hers as they kissed. His lips trembled only for a brief moment after contacting her own, the trembling easing into the simple muscular motions he made as he suckled lightly on her lower lip.
Leaving it at that for the moment, he drew back slightly, eyes fluttering open to gauge her reaction. His face flush and his breathing slowed. This night was developing into something very interesting.
The sun was setting as Jayce found himself retiring with Larissa. Inviting her into his place he closed the door behind them gently, being sure the proper locks were in place. (Although, if news of this got out, not even locks would keep the door upright when it reached Vi or Cait’s ears.)
"Well, make yourself comfortable," He said with a smile. Heading for the icebox he returned with a pair of cold bottles of craft brew. Handing one to the sellsword he took his seat next to her on the couch.
"I’ll be honest, I don’t know exactly how this works… My job doesn’t exactly provide me many nights to spend with others," Jayce admitted, the soft tone of his voice setting the gentleness of his mood. "If you like, I can sleep on the couch and you can take the bed. I made it this morning, and it’s definitely the most comfortable place in here."
He let the words set before uncapping the bottles and taking a deep sip. Whatever happened, happened. But he would be sure that the mercenary seated next to him would be the one setting the pace tonight. Of that, there was no doubt in his mind.
