Nothing against any of these artists as there are some personal favs and much deserved ones but some of these should NOT be nominated before Alice in Chains. Pink? Pink before them. Shut up.

17th Annual Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, New York City, 18 March 2002
Phil Collins, Sade, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, and Luther Vandross also made the cut
Most of my votes are in..!
You made it, you’re still here. Happy 80th, Jimmy.
And happy 3 year anniversary of the day our glorious boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (March 29th, 2019)
That feeling when...
The Foo Fighters get into the RRHOF years (if not decades) before you do.😑
Sorry to any of my followers to love them, but I’ve never found the Foo Fighters to be anything more than a serviceable radio band. They have a few catchy singles, and Dave seems to be a genuinely good and talented guy, but their overall importance and influence on rock music is pretty minuscule. You don’t see a ton of bands citing them as an influence, and Dave’s place in rock history is mostly tied to that other band he played in.
Meanwhile, Soundgarden was one of the bands that put Sub Pop on the map and was massively influential for the Seattle Scene. And, AIC was the first grunge band to have breakout success with Facelift and “Man in the Box.” Nirvana’s success may have been bigger, but let’s not pretend that they weren’t helped by AIC cracking the door open a year earlier.
And, both bands were also very influential for what people call “alternative metal.” When Metallica cut their hair and “went alternative,” it was AIC and Soundgarden that they were trying to copy, not Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
And, despite all of this, Soundgarden has had only one failed nomination in 2020, while AIC has yet to even appear on a ballot.🤦
I shouldn’t care about this. The RRHOF is such a worthless, irrelevant institution, and they have a known bias against metal and hard rock. And, I doubt Chris and Layne would even care if they were ever inducted.
But, at the same time, it just further cements Soundgarden and AIC as eternally the #3 and #4 of grunge. The forgotten redheaded stepchildren. And, they deserve better than that.😞
