One thing I did not anticipate when getting started with gardening is how similar it can be to moving furniture around in your house after moving in— you keep switching locations until you get it right. With furniture it's about comfort and the traffic patterns your living falls into, and same goes for plants with soil, sun, and wind conditions. I replanted our calamansi tree 7 times before it started to thrive, and my potted double pikake are hitting continuous blooming now that they've claimed this 4th spot try on our deck —thrilled that it just so happens to be where their scent wafts into our living room windows.
