GREENWOOD YARD OPEN HOUSE!!!
RT-14/15 (asbestos abatement) RT-16 (tunnel washer) (FINALLY) RT-8 (rail transport buggies) RT-18 (locomotive) RT-89 (track vacuum) RT-41 (tie tamper) RT-20 & RT-87 (cranes) RT-27 (prince edward viaduct beam replacement) RT-49 (snow thrower) RT-6 (drain vacuum) RT-81 (anchor bolt driller) very very fun time. I took about a billion photos but I don't want this post to be ten miles long
it was quite apparent to the workers that I am exceptionally interested in the work cars and I guess that's not something they see very often. they let me into RT-20 and gave me a huge list with a ton of vehicle specifications. I intend to digitize the paper at some point since I don't think this stuff is available online anywhere but it's just so dang huge.
climbing up the little ladder on the front of a train is something i've always wanted to do :)

made it to the yard only to find I'd forgotten my sd card at home :( took a picture of RT-18 on the camera screen with my phone, since it was the closest train to me and I hadn't seen it since june. everything else was too far away for me to hold the phone and camera steady
Sightings @ Greenwood Yard, 2024/12/23, 16:00
RT-90/91 (track inspection) RT-8 (rail delivery buggies) ST-7?? (scarborough RT locomotive?? what are you doing here) RT-41 (tie tamper) RT-79 & 78 (ballast buggies) RT-40 (ballast delivery) RT-71 (locomotive) RT-28 (crane) RT-89 (track vacuum) RT-88 (crane) RT-57 (flatcar)
I finally got a proper camera with a zoom lens!! The difference is crazy, I was expecting it to be an improvement but I did not anticipate that I'd be able to see from one end of the yard to the other
Sightings @ Greenwood Yard, 2024/12/16, 16:00
RT-73 (ATC installation) RT-25 (ATC installation) RT-90/91 (track inspection. coupled to a pair of regular service T1s?) RT-8 (rail delivery buggies. forgot to get a photo because I made awkward eye contact with a yard worker and had to immediately flee) RT-57 (flatbed) RT-89 (track vacuum) RT-40 (ballast delivery) & two ballast buggies
weather was a bit nicer today so I took the opportunity to visit. both RT-25 and RT-73 were moving in and out of the shops today and looked like they had comms maintenance equipment onboard
