I wrote a poem about some triggers that many of those who were at Route 91 encounter on a daily basis. I can across this picture and found it fitting. I've had a rough day emotionally and writing this poem and finding this picture have allowed me to feel a bit better luckily. Going through the past 3 weeks has been a daily struggle and each day can be easier or harder than the next. This will not define me but it will always be a part of me. 18 hours and 44 minutes ago my world flipped upside down. My heart is broken. I have scrapes and bruising from running through hotels, fields, ditches, and climbing over fences. I will never be able to listen to fireworks the same. Movies with snipers will make me nervous. I am lucky that I get to be home with my family and friends to grieve and mourn that day. I don't know why this happened but I was so blessed to be surrounded by selfless, honest, kind, caring, compassionate people. Thank you to all the firemen, police officers, paramedics, EMTs, security guards, doctors, nurses, and those brave men and women who helped out and continue to help out. Thank you for all of your kind words and support.
