Since I didn't make it out to the West Coast this last #RockTheBells I asked #TheNetwork to go out and spread the word. The Network (West Coast) is run by my cousin DJ MIC aka Michael Woods (DJ & Emcee - you've seen him in the "Is This The End" video) he and the homies went out there and had a ball. 9/17 marked the 8 yr anniversary of President Hugo Chavez's visit to The South Bronx. From that visit, Chavez identified the Bronx as a community he wanted to help. Thru CITGO he gave low cost heating oil to the people in The BX.... that was followed by a social justice fund thru CITGO/Northstar Fund which supported various community orgs in The BX and allowed them to do the important work our community needs. That legacy still lives today even though Chavez has ascended to the spiritual world. On Thursday September 26th we will have Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro come and visit Hostos Community College in The Bronx. When is the last time any president came to The BX? We want to build up momentum and recognize the solidarity the Bolivarian Revolution has had with The South Bronx Community and The RDACBX... Join us this Sunday September 22nd at Puerto Rican Community Center and boxing gym EL MAESTRO as we bring you a super fresh Hip Hop show....we got a special guest The Godfather of Hip Hop himself- DJ Kool Herc..who this year celebrated the 40th anniversary of Hip Hop......we got a crazy lineup with; Rebel Armz representative- AKIR... we got the lyrical genius of FINAL OUTLAW , and the fresh talents of The RDACBX fam: Rebel Diaz, Vithym and Grammy Luss...... We will also have straight form Venezuela: Picki from Bituaya and Tiuna el Fuerte...giving a presentation of their work in Venezuela.... Hosted by John Mega and Claudia de La Cruz....
