What effects do malware entail? I understand that rubberho goes through changes but I want to understand why they specifically get shark-like/ buff and sweaty. Also, is it tied to your process of making your designs the opposite if there is no reason? I think your OCs are great, bye!

Thank you very much for your question! In this ask I explain that Rubberho’s appearance changes as a result of installing malware. Besides changing his appearance the malware is supposed to affect his overall performance on PsycheNet (glitches and pop-ups in his peripheral view).

I mostly wanted a design that communicated something was wrong; His appearance is threatening because the internet corrupts Garrick’s way of thinking and his sweating is to convey feeling ill from the excessive add-ons and malware.

I’ve been juggling a lot of ideas for Encrypted for the past few years so I now have other ideas for Rubberho’s transformation. One idea I have is that Katefish projects onto Rubberho with the idea (malware) that Garrick is a disgusting brute, and is encouraging him to embrace it. Garrick doesn’t want to be a monster but his compromised self-image is reflected in the appearance of his avatar. I’m considering having 7ancelot inflict Katefish’s “malware” as he and Rubberho have similar design traits and it might imply 7ancelot was inflicted with the same idea (or was a pig to begin with)

why does rubberho slowly go from toontown character to massive lad?

When Garrick first makes his account on PsycheNet (working title) he gets a default avatar that looks like this

Eventually he gets a new avatar which he starts customising with add-ons - I’m still working on it but for now the reason his avatar changes appearance is because Garrick accidentally installed malware
