HURT: DOMIHATSU FANFIC
Modern AU / Highschool / @raimented & @rubensarmiis
Despite himself, Hatsuyuki isn’t one to get into fights often.
In fact, it’s something he’d rather avoid than indulge in — after all, fights never end up in a good place. Somebody gets a black eye, or a broke nose, or bruised fists. It just isn’t a pretty sight, and he knows his by his friend, Chrysanthos, who willingly boxes, and willingly receives these injuries despite his cute face.
Hatsuyuki personally thinks it’s a shame, really, that he’s using himself to hurt. However, he understands his friend’s passion, and understands its what he loves to do. After all, his skill in boxing is what allowed him to meet his now boyfriend, which only caused Hatsuyuki to feel a little self-conscious.
Of course, making clothes wasn’t a bad thing. But it did not necessarily introduce him to people that he found ... were right for him, romantically. The Fashion & Design Club was packed with girls, with the exception of Forrest, but unfortunately, Hatsuyuki could never see him in a romantic light as much as he possibly wanted to — he was Chrys’s cousin.
Other than that, there was nobody that he found ... unique for him. Cute for him. Hot for him. Perfect for him. Maybe that wasn’t how love worked, but what did he know? Being in love was never his topic of thought, and now that he was in high school... well, he was pretty much surrounded by that. And he had no idea what to do. But now wasn’t really the time for that, was it?
He was sitting in the nurse’s office with this redhead, who was fixing up his bloody nose.
“You shouldn’t have taken that hit,” He said with remorse, as he dabbled Hatsuyuki’s nostril with the third tissue. “Geez, he was only going to punch me in the chest, now he fucked up your nose.”
“Haha, it’s fine,” Hatsuyuki waved it off — it was only a bloody nose. And it was strange, how he got in between those two boys when one threw a punch, and seeing how it landed on the wrong person, the puncher fled with his little posse. Ah, high school. Thankfully the boy he defended escorted him here.
“Nah. Damn, sorry,” The redhead apologized, handing Hatsuyuki a tissue, successfully clogging one nostril. “But, uh... I guess you did something pretty noble. So... thanks.”
“Oh, it was nothing,” Hatsuyuki smiled, even though he was sure he looked terrible. “What’s your name?”
“Dominic. Uhhh... how about yours?”
“Hatsuyuki. But you can call me Hatsu.”
Everything blossomed from that point on wards. And Hatsuyuki learned that the reason they were fighting, or going to fight, was because the puncher was taunting Dominic about his lack of an attendance partner for the upcoming school dance — a teasing that went too far and pushed Dominic’s rage to a point of nearly blowing. Hatsuyuki laughed when he first heard this, but not in a mean way — it just seemed like a stupid reason.
Their paths crossed more than the each expected so, but it didn’t go bothered — eventually seeing one another became routine, until talking became routine, and then hanging out became routine, too. Although their personalities differed, and Hatsuyuki could definitely poke and Dominic’s buttons sometimes, it was never enough to completely destroy their relationship. It was a nice relationship. Hatsuyuki was satisfied with it.
It was unique, and it was new. And he was happy with it. He wanted to be a little selfish, he’d admit, but not to Dominic’s face.
On the day of the dance, they found each other, again.
“Hey,” Dominic was first.
“Hey,” Hatsuyuki followed.
“I thought you weren’t coming to the dance.”
“I thought you weren’t either.”
“S-So... I guess we don’t have to be here then.”
Hatsuyuki broke into a small smile, “Yeah, I guess we don—”
“FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! DANCE BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Shiro yelled at the top of his lungs suddenly and rammed into Hatsuyuki who crashed into the fruit punch and received a broken arm. Dominic and Hatsuyuki never got to not be at the dance.
