Well this is embarrassing

So my last post was about how I was ending this blog for good and deleting it from my dashboard, but then a little something called the tumblr Community Guidelines said "no".

So um, yeah. Since this blog is the thing that ties my account to this site, it can't disappear. I guess I'm just gonna be dragging around a fossil in my online sphere, sigh. Well, a fossil is meant to be observed and appreciated, so back online it will go.

Hilariously, I previously tried to redirect traffic from my primary blog to my secondary and tumblr's algorithm accused me of hacking into my own account and locked it for several days. Bravo, tumblr for being a functioning member of the online society. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But like I said before, I am not going to be using this blog anymore. I just want to get this message out because I am still getting new followers despite my latest post and I would like if everyone following me jumped ship over to @rubiaryutheroyal because I'm not actually leaving tumblr (yet). I've got multiple blogs on this site that have been gathering Internet dust, but it's problems galore if I jump ship entirely.

Starting next week I will be returning to work on updating the GSvsAA project on my blogspot at gsvsaa.blogspot.com. I might not make it for Tuesday as before, but Wednesday or Thursday ought to be a safe bet.

Also, thanks to a certain fave LPer on Youtube who recently started the fan translated Dai Gyakuten Saiban, I've been reminded that I still haven't finished DGS2 and I ought to get on that already. It's been almost 2 freakin' years. Unfortunately, I won't be live-blogging anymore, but I will still post comments as I go.

GSvsAA, here I come

Well, I’m happy to announce that I’ve completed finals and am officially on summer break!

At least until the summer term starts, but even then, I’ll have a lot more free time.

I think... I think it’s time. After an entire year and some hiatus, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be returning to work on my main blog project, Gyakuten Saiban vs Ace Attorney.

Gee, what was this blog about again? It feels like forever since I did something productive toward it.

For those who don’t know yet, it’s a translation project where I dig into each of the games  (primarily the scripts, graphics & other things will have to wait) and look for differences between the source Japanese and localized English versions of the Ace Attorney games and explain (to some extent) why the changes were made. So far, I’ve completed through the original trilogy and have left AAI on hold due to time constraints and technical difficulties with emulators and script digging. However, if I have more time, I might as well make use of it.

As a heads-up, I will be returning to work on AAI, but I can at least first get the character profiles for AJ, DD, and SoJ ready.

I’ll also be returning to my irregularly scheduled misc. translation requests and the ask meme @rubiaryutheroyal​. To make it easier on me, I think I’ll stop answering them in order of the inbox and instead go as I please. I may be able to get more posted this way than otherwise.

And lastly, I will be available to respond to random asks and other ask memes. Well, I had already been, but people haven’t even shot me a message to say “hi” or anything... (´・ω・` ;)

Welcome back! I like coming back to your reblogs to view the dialogue differences with the JP/EN scripts. Are you gonna be doing the same for the JP/EN scripts of AAIC (particularly for AAI2?) Would you consider doing comparisons with the fan-translation since that was all we had to go off of for EN audiences of AAI2?

As for this blog's main project, it's still on hiatus. I'm not sure if I'll have the time to work on the comparisons these days given my erratic schedule now that I'm vying to be a professional writer. Also of note, since tumblr changed their site format a few years back, it would be a nightmare to reformat the game scripts I have to something tumblr would like. So I intend to port my stuff over to my own blogspot site, though it's still in the works. I can't say for sure when it'll be up, but I don't plan to abandon it forever. Rest assured, none of what I have here will ever be deleted even if I do export them.

Though, I'm sorry to say that I probably won't be doing the same for the fan translation for GK2, as I am very dependent on complete game script rips to review through the games. The guy who I got my sources from doesn't have them for the fan translation, but I can ask him if he'll do the same for AAI2 when it comes out.

As for nowadays, well, I've been logging updates on my other blog @rubiaryutheroyal where I have been busy with a massive FF7 fanfic that has taken me the last two years to write and I swear I'll finish it by next year. At this rate, I may hit a million words before the end of this one.

And then when all that's done, I can actually focus on building my own blog with my own rules and formats. And hopefully with images! I wish I figured out earlier how to upload screenshots like how I wanted to do with TGAAC.

Would it be possible to translate something from a different game, called Shock Troopers Second Squad? I'm curious what the character Angel is like in the Japanese, since the English version wasn't well translated at all. Can I ask what she says at 4:00, 7:50, and 8:51? (Feel free to say no since it's not Ace Attorney related.) Thank you!

I don't mind translating for other games, but due to clutter on this blog, I prefer to take misc. requests @rubiaryutheroyal instead. Also, do you have a source I can watch? Those times don't do much for me. ^^;

My other blog @rubiaryutheroyal is still open to requests. I’ve just been clogged up on things here and there to tidy up before I can focus everything on GS6 when it comes out.

Also, it’s harder than it seems to write answers to prompts, so please be patient. I think I still have 5 more to fill...
