I just can't even express how happy I am that they're finally allowing blatantly queer rep in cartoons!! I know the creators really have to push for it and there have been so many shows that tried that are basically stepping stones to where we are now and I am SO greatful for everyone who put in the time and energy to make this possible and didn't give up in the face of pure adversity.
My issue with LGBT rep.
Dont get me wrong I appreciate the rep for the LGBT community okay? I really like that Keith is leading his own pack of lesbians around the universe I really do. I don't usually care about non-cannon ships but they genuinely built Keith and Lance's relationship a lot and promoted it ALOT.
But why is it always girls? I mean you have ships like #bubbline and ruby and sapphire and of course the majority of the She-ra characters I'm sure, but what about boys? I mean they got a kiss in the credits of the show? Wow so forward thinking.
They really wrote out Klance to be an evolved and healthy relationship and they through it all away. They could have had other straight couples on the show but all they did was tease those and toss them to the side.
The fact was they just made #Allorance cannon because they needed to make her death more tragic than it already was. They threw together their relationship in a season while STILL teasing #klance. I mean I guess they left it pretty open-ended and they could obviously work in the future but DreamWorks really threw away a chance to be one of the first shows to show little boys (and girls) that yes, giant cat robots are cool, but it's also cool to except yourself and those that love you. And honestly that's so fucking sad.
