I really needed to simplify Lividas style and a lot of the protags didnāt look like kids...like they should.
So! Ā I tried to simplify designs a lil and made some rules. Ā Theres a lot more and this is a WIP.
I realized I didnāt have much time to do them all so I stopped colouring them after Niia
Kasaar was born to Tal-Vashoth parents who fled the Qun and met an untimely end, leaving her to the fate of far too many orphans in Antiva; bought and sold into the Antivan Crows. An unusual fate for a vashoth Qunari perhaps, as the Crows are known to prefer elves and humans for their nimbler statures and ability to blend in. But one Guildmaster took a chance on the fledgling and put Kasaar through her paces. A harsh upbringing, growing up in even more cramped and confining quarters than her elven or human peers, many of whom she would be forced to kill to advance.
As with many of their fledglings, the harsh upbringing soon made her into a harsh woman with no qualms on killing or doing what needed to be done. But while many of the Crows put on a charming and alluring facade to sedcue their targets, Kasaar found no use for such trivialities. She is blunt and rude and impersonal, taking little enjoyment in her gilded cage or the supposed "luxuries" that accompany it.
The Guildmaster who recruited Kasaar had named her "Dangerous Weapon" after all, mocking the tongue she had never learned to speak, yet another opportunity that was ripped away from her. She was just a tool, and this was her purpose now. This mindset barred her from being assigned more "sociable" or extravagant contracts - theivery and espionage - but served to hone her talents in the art of death. Indeed she would become a very skilled rogue, with a penchant for turning the playing field against her targets like a proper saboteur.
As for her design, I wanted to go for a warmer tone to make her more visually distinct from my other qunari OCs. (with both Turnys and Ilmanith having very cool-toned skin) So I kinda used "Sten Of The Beresaad" mod for DAO as a frame of reference for her colour palette; bronze skin, purple-ish eyes. She also has heterochromia, with her right eye being more silver than the other one. It's kind of hidden but Kasaar is also very heavily scarred all over her body, slash and whip marks that she sustained during her trainings, and several gashes along her face from a job that went bad. She wears her hair to cover them, a little bit ashamed at her own sloppiness but also because she thinks it looks cool when it blows in the wind (it does). Oh yeah and my first time making a qunari OC with the "canon" silver hair colour, happy with it! And I gave her the really big curling horns even though they're the least sleek or "stealthy" looking, I'd wanted to give them to my other qunari Rook (bc I read a cool headcanon about Qunari Grey Warden horns gradually looking more like ogre horns as the years go on) but it ended up not being her vibe.
sometimes a family can be the spoiled brat dwarven warrior princess who got exiled on false charges of fratricide, her very tall and blunt friend who just found out cookies exist, the cute lesbian swamp witch she rescued from an abusive mother, and the slutty elf who was hired to kill them all but fucked it up because he wants to fuck her so bad it makes him look stupidš
"But-"
"Every story's got an ending. This one just came a little earlier than I'd planned."
Transcript:
Rook: You're still dead!
Varric: Yeah... Huh, sorry about that, kid.
Rook: You know, I think I knew the truth, deep down... But I couldn't face it.
Varric: Why not?
Rook: Because it would mean admitting that I let you die!
Varric: Shit, didn't you learn anything from this place? I made the choice! To talk to him, to try to reach him. Even knowing the risks, because he was my friend. My decision, my sacrifice. And you don't get to take that from me.
sidenote: decided I'm not done crying over this scene yet ;-;
This is Mylrian Kethai, she's an older OC of mine that I've decided to adapt for this Starfield Star Wars Genesis playthrough now that I've gotten everything set up!
In my original concept for her, Mylrian was an Archivist studying at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant who managed to survive the onslaught of Order 66 (I swear I wrote this part BEFORE it became such an overused trope š) and in the years since then, she has made it her life mission to preserve the history of the Jedi Order, as well as documenting knowledge from other schools of thought, taking a keen interest in studying the many different aspects of the Force as well before the Empire and its Inquisitors could erase all trace of these teachings.
She's not above breaking into private collections or diving into old temple ruins to recover these relics either. While she once considered herself a true Jedi, the more she studies the different ways of the Force, the more Mylrian began to feel out-of-touch with the Jedi's philosphy. She leans towards embracing a balanced approach that encompasses all aspects of the Force, dark, light, and outside thereof.
Although I originally invented her for an AU fic (wherein she accidentally taps into the Unifying Force/The World Between Worlds and creates an alternate timeline that she becomes stuck in and is forced to face the consequences of that). But as it turns out, Star Wars Genesis' plot involves hunting down some strange artifacts too, which meshes really well with her character and gives Mylrian a realistic motivation for pursuing the main questline.
Also the original dollmaker/picrews I made of her years ago, for comparison :3
