“It is!” Ruby shouted. “You said, I’m a great gem! You said, I’m a great fighter!” She paused for a minute, trying not to cry. “You said…” The red gem clenched her fists as tears formed in her eyes. “You said I was worth it! And look, I can’t even get anything right!”
"Ruby!" Rose's voice pitched itself a bit higher than usual, intent on breaking through to the smaller Gem, intent on being heard. "You are worth it. You're worth every second I've every spent training with you, sparing with you, every moment I've ever spent with you." Gently, she took her hands into her own, squeezing firmly, "Everyone has a bad day once in a while. So just... take a breath. Calm down. Look at me-- I promise, you are a great Gem, and a great fighter, and I love you. Very much. I wouldn't lie about any of that."
