you're not supposed to call out your dad like that, dj. sam blows out a breath and replies with an unintelligible murmur at first. muffled by the palm that rubs over his mouth. elbows bent on the tabletop, both hands smooth his hair back out of his face before he cups the back of his neck with the right and angles his sight up to the young man standing beside the chair he's been hunched on for the better part of the last couple hours.
