The worst way to end a year, yet thank you for waking me.
In august I got laid off. Just to use my medical insurance, I got checked up and found out I have sleep apnea. Fine, I'll deal with that. I'll go ahead and look on the bright side of this lay off. I decide to jump on the INSANITY workout band-wagon. You see, I'm about 30-40lbs over-weight. No wonder my health deteriorated and my career went south. So, let get into shape. I'm not young anymore. I can't just shed weight like before. I find that out the hard way. At 31 I injured my back only 2 weeks into the work out October timeframe. Well, I was predisposed for injuries I find this out later. I injured my lower back so bad that I had to take an ambulance to the ER... eek at this point I don't have insurance anymore. What a bill! Anyways I have a genetic defect in my lower back called a rudimentary disc which pretty makes my lower back unstable. Adding the extra weight, my lower back was just waiting to break. It took 8 weeks of cat stretches and yoga to feel my toes again. What I forgot to mention is that I pinched a nerve and my entire right leg was in cramps and numb all over the place.
What I got from this is that life is too fragile. Life is short. Health is important. So even though my new year was spent drink a smoothie, I'm happy. I'm on my first week of juicing. I dropped 18lbs since getting laid off. My back feels a lot better. I've waken up from my slumber of fatboyness and I am ready to be healthy and then later work on being fit again.
