Today I remember the great Pianist Rudolf Serkin (1903-1991). He was born on March 28. 1903. Here we see a rare signed postcard from 1931 that show the young Serkin painted by A.H. Pellegrini a painter from my hometown Basel.

I photographed this iconic photograph of my hero the amazing pianist and humanist Rudolf Serkin at the Marlboro Music Festival in 1988. Years later, in 2006, while photographing the Brevard Music Festival Orchestra concert with his son Peter Serkin as soloist, I took note of the same hand position and captured this second image.
