omg we went to see tfios yesterday it wasnt bad but the best part was this group of like six year sevens in the cinema who were sobbing the whole way through literally like heart-wrenching sobs and they were clutching at each other and passing around a tfios themed tissue box and filming themselves crying i literally laughed my way through the funeral scene bc of this u have no idea it was so beautiful

omg i just joined the fandom - what were the yucky tropes created by the fandom of steve???

haha well I explain it more in this post. most of the tropes seem to have emerged from the avengers, since steve’s personal scenes were cut (although a few have also come from the first captain america movie, see: steve still calling sex “fondue”). the more you interact with the fandom the more you’ll see them, and depending on what you ship, it’s going to be more prevalent.

like I said, a few of those tropes can be done well, but now, the majority of the tropes have become overused. people rely too heavily on them, so they’re stale and boring and have reduced steve to a caricature of a character that didn’t even exist in the first place. people can subscribe to as many of those tropes as they want but they should be aware the majority of them are just not canon-accurate.
