hiiii guysss this has taken a WHILE for me to do and i havent really done something like this before so 🙏 yay i hope u enjoy 🙂
also the idea came from this instagram post u should check it out 🙏
Hi again! And yeah schools are tiring, i finally completed school this year, next is uni sighs
But...... Brant belonging to the Vacker fam?? That's honestly the first i'm hearing of this.
Curious to know how this would play out tho? like would Brant be the secret child of Alden and Della or like maybe cousins???
He's dead so I don't know how, even if he was a Vacker, would be all that important to the lore? Maybe it involves the mysterious Vacker legacy?
What are your thoughts abt this?
Uggghhhh I still have two months to go before saying goodbye to this torture chamber... I'm counting the days but also why is time flying so fast-
Wait, really? But I thought Brant Vacker was kind of mainstream?
Oh well. I am honoured to introduce you to the Brant Alger Vacker iceberg!
Like I said, it would be the second time the Matchmaking System screw over a Vacker-Ruewen couple (I could rant on and on about how Sophitz initially seemed intented to parallel Ruedacted, *not* Sokeefe).
Jolie was already matched with two other Vackers (#77 Harlin and #24 Benesh). Imagine her heart rate going up when she sees her lover's last name, but it's not the Vacker she wanted... something something "I want it to be you" parallel ahhh...
It would make Brant's hatred for Alvar ten times more valid (and funnier). Brant would've had to listen to Alvar ranting about how his parents "phased [him] out of their lives", meanwhile Brant was (probably) DISOWNED by his. I'd throw my ungrateful cousin in a room on fire, too.
The Vacker family is just too lovely. Granted, I'll hardly complain that Shannon made Della and Alden to be such sweethearts, but we need more shitty Vacker representation out there. Right now, they seem more like an average familly, though they're supposed to be a bunch of snobs responsible for most of the Lost Cities' injustices.
Brant Vacker wouldn't be a huge plot twist of any sort, and I think, considering he is dead, a last name reveal would be more to expand on the worldbuilding and characters than on the story. Mayhaps Shannon has a short story planned for him and Jolie? ong, my life would be hers if she did. I think that's what she plans to do with characters like Umber as well, since revealing her backstory now would just be a waste of page time. Idk.
Love how we all agree that most straight kotlc ships are straight in a gay way.

red horizons - chapter 1
word count: 2,342
summary: There were a lot of ways Sophie could describe Mars. It was surreal, to be there in the first place, something close to 100 million miles from Earth. Everything from the different gravity, to the perpetually dusky sky, to sunset or sunrise, when the horizon lit with an earth-like blue. It all felt like an elaborate dream. The planet was beautiful, even with its barren landscape, and it was breathtaking every time Sophie left the HAB and saw the horizon, endless red rocks for kilometers and kilometers in the distance.
notes: Basically, another overly elaborate kotlc au, this time with The Martian by Andy Weir! You definitely don’t have to have read the book, all you need to know is they’re on Mars. Cool? Cool.
