Can we collectively drop the "helped" in "Alvar helped kidnap Sophie and Dex." He didn't "help." He KIDNAPPED them.
I feel like this might be some subconscious word choice to soften Alvar's crime. He's evil guys. He is EVIL.
Everyone's always like "Sophie is a nerd but it never shows" "we need more nerd Sophie" "why doesn't she infodump like any normal encyclopedia reader wld"?
Have any of you considered that Sophie might have been a classic infodumper as a child and stopped? She could hear their thoughts. Nobody liked it. "Ooh the Speical Sophieflake showing off again". Mabye she learnt that nobody wanted to hear it, so she just... stopped. And that urge to infodump slowly faded out of her.
Things i wouldn't mind changing if there were to be a koltc adaptation
• the role of the Gnomes. How they're described and the things they do for the elves does make me pretty uncomfortable, and I think that could be redone.
