The Chinese Lion guardians were one of my favorite parts about China. Usually found outside of various buildings, from palaces, to grocery stores, to homes, these statues guard the entry with the female lion on the left & the male on the right. They represent the balance of yin & yang & you can distinguish them because the female has the lion cub underneath her paw while with male has the ball.
