Thank you for asking! Yes, you can include bits from the trailers. Since the themes are very speculation based, we won't be requiring anyone use any "spoiler" tag as the trailer and teaser have been out long enough.

The only thing that is completely banned and won't be reblogged (and thank you for reminding me) is LEAKED information.

Early episodes were part of a large Netflix leak, and the community has been great not indulging in this. I've personally not been exposed to any spoilers. But if it is made clear in any entry that you are using clips or information gleaned through leaked content, you'll not be reblogged, and if done maliciously/to spoil the tags, you'd be blocked.

We’d like to think that there was no drama, but we'll answer this in good faith.

Recom Week has been open to all artists, writers, and creators and no one has ever been excluded from any of our event accounts. That being said: our mods are, as anyone is, allowed to draw personal boundaries outside of the event itself. 

One creative, Niku30, discovered that one of the mods had them blocked on their personal account. 

Niku30 then proceeded to share this information + additional speculations about the moderator and the event via their Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter accounts, which have considerable followings.

We have no idea why Niku30 would take someone drawing a personal boundary in such a way that they would endanger our mods. However, we have maintained and will continue to maintain the stance that Niku30 has never been excluded from the event, even after potentially opening up the moderators to harassment.

Recom Week is for Everyone!

The mods want this to be a safe and exciting event to encourage the creation of works around Avatar’s Recombinants.

Unless rules are explicitly broken or the mod team is harassed, no one is barred from participating.

Our tumblr account @recom-week is subject to the mods’ personal blocklists, as they cannot be dissociated. Sharing work on Twitter is then the safest way to participate.

As stated in all our rules and posts about the event, we start on the 27th of May.

There's been a few cases of people posting early, so I want to clarify : it's OK to post your wips under the tag!

But we will not reblog any of your submissions if they are shared before the 27th.

The entire concept of a week event is that we share during the week itself. If you post early, you're on your own.

So if you want to participate at the same time as everyone else and be reblogged on here as a part of the event... Then you must wait until the 27th.

The early time you have now is to create art or write and edit fics.

Just checking, the ao3 collection will be open for a month after the event, will this tumblr also be reblogging entries up to a month late?

I don't plan on closing the collection actually (mostly because I'm going to 100% forget). And this blog will continue to share art or fic after the initial month, provided that :

The post @'s this account or @bluedaddysgirl or sends a DM after a couple days

Basically after a few weeks when submissions will have entirely died off, I will not be checking the tag regularly enough, and if you want to be reblogged you'll have to make sure to grab my attention.

That's pretty much it though! I've never had many super late submissions in any event I've run, so I don't see the point of restricting it!

Can the second set of prompts be used for canon divergence set during season 1? Or do they need to be specifically post canon?

Technically I'd say canon divergence is always fine, but if it diverges from canon it's best in the first set, and if it goes beyond it's best in the second... But then again you can mix and match so eeeeh. I'd reblog it anyway.

If a prompt of the 1st set really appeals for a post canon era divergent story that's great!

Doing funky things to the prompts isn't rule breaking at all. So long as the rules are followed, I wouldn't mind accepting art done for the event that didn't even follow any of the prompts but was just either "set in canon time" or "season 2 speculation".

Like if you make a cute art of granny Vi and Cait sitting on a porch together, this wouldn't fulfill a prompt per se but it'd be damn cute and of course I'd reblog it.

Also if you do post on tiktok (where we don't have an account), we'd appreciate if you can link back to this blog or the twitter/insta ones, and likewise, if you don't mind crossposting to your account, we'd love to share your edits!

If you don't want your tiktoks on your tumblr, we can post directly on the blog with full credits and links in your stead if you're comfy with that.

Is Platonic Recom & child OC allowed? Like one of the recoms forming a parent/sibling relationship with an orphaned kid.

Absolutely. Child OC or Child Canon character are perfectly fine in & relationships.

Such gen works certainly can be dark too, so long as they are well labelled. The only content we don't allow is any /slash pairings, dark or wholesome, doesn't matter.
