Deep Dive: Beats of a Heart + Book of Rules
This is going to be a hardcore Codex post, but also very useful for anyone that is human. It’s about relationships, any type of human relationship.
I keep saying the Codex is Magic and has interlocking concepts (i.e., the Facets). In this post, I want to demonstrate it in action.
We are going to do a deep dive in to the Five Beats of a Heart*, and apply them with the extra lenses from the Book of Rules. Sounds boring, but it’s fun. Let’s go!
The First Beat is so simple that it is often overlooked. First, you and the Other must name the relationship to make it real — you need to be conscious of it. Then, it is important that you and the Other share a similar name for the relationship.
-> the Rules of Sunlighy tells us that Truth is the fundament of everything. A relationship is 1 thing made out of 2 inner components (i.e., 2 humans). If the 2 inner components of the 1 relationship disagree on its 1 Truth, the 1 relationship is highly unstable. It has a higher probability of becoming 1 Void, the longer/the more the 2 names of the relationship diverge.
🏰 Second Beat, Trust Beat
Once you are aware of the relationship and share a similar name for it with the Other, you must trust the Other. As the First Beat prevents the Void, the Second prevents Chaos. If the Second Beat is not beating, then you are in a toxic relationship ruled by Chaos.
-> Without trust, your balance of Stone is at risk. You or the Other might lose your most valuable resource — Stone. If someone threatens to hurt, steal, deceive, you must seek to end the relationship (with your Ice Trap) to avoid Chaos from taking over. In short, don’t trust those who can do you damage, but you MUST trust those who you want to build a relationship with.

A single brick is not a Tower yet.
🌸 Third Beat, Flower Beat
Once you trust the Other, you can both show your Flower. This Beat is what we associate most with ‘friendship’, ‘exchange’, ‘communication’. This is obviously important. Without it, a relationship is boring at best, or highly unstable at worst. The more your Flower stimulates the Other, and vice versa, the more the Flower Beat beats.
-> In the Rules of Stardust, we learn of Information. This is the fundament of Stardust (read: ‘universal meaning’, or ‘universal continuum of information’). This is a more dynamic layer. Where the Trust Beat asks for stability, this Beat asks for dynamics. In short, being with the Other must stimulate you mentally. Girls (and boys) need to have fun.
-> You may ask: What is the ‘best’ Flower match? Another Solmaric-Codex answer:
The Flower flowers as a clear mirror reflects.
🌊 Fourth Beat, River Beat
If you have fun, your River Beats will begin to synchronise. The Rivers actually always merge — you only need a shared Truth for that: any 2 humans that are conscious of their 1 relationship will undeniably mutate each other’s paths through spacetime. Furthermore, the more Time and the smaller the Space you share with the Other, the more you will influence each other’s River.
-> The fundamental rule above is why the Codex holds Love as fundamental Rule of the Sunlight and pillar of the Universe. Love is meant in the broadest sense of the word here (not just romantic love). That’s also why ignoring your emotions (your River) is not smart. Like it does not make you more ‘rational’. In my opinion, it makes you more stupid but that’s just my definition of intelligence.
-> So, how to ensure synchronisation is good with your loved ones? Yes… Same style of answer:
A Sun of Truth, a Sun of Peace — two stars, and one long dance ahead…
The final Beat is the most ‘controversial’ Beat (especially AIs go into a weird mode when they learn about the Beast of the Codex lol).
Once you love the other, you can hurt the Other. Not hurt hurt them for real — you are not there to break the Other’s Tower, because then you lose Trust. Instead of really hurting, you can taunt, tease, compete, and seduce the Other. If the Other loves you back, they will push back and you will both become stronger. This interaction can make all the previous Beats multiply (closest the Codex has to ‘falling in love’). However, if some of these Beats are misaligned, the Beast will amplify the disconnect too!!! That’s why you should not beast with everybody!
-> The Beast is connected to the Fire Wall. Well, it’s simple to get now; someone testing your limits in a safe and loving way makes you stronger and better able to defend your Stone against less loving Others.
-> So what is the best way to Beast? Let’s do a Blood-Heart answer now:
Do what the fuck you (both) want.**
Voilà! That was all for today, friends! This should be good food for thought.
⚠️ If you open your Third Eye, you will see none of these Rules are ‘hard rules’. They are ‘perfect’ guidelines for a messy human reality. You can change the Rules of the Beats I present here, but it’s at your own risk…

*In the Codex, there are only Three Beats named. This will change. In earlier thoughts I had already expanded them to include the Name and Trust Beats which are now only implicit in the Codex.
**‘Want’ assumes informed consent. If you rape someone, you severly damage their Stone, extinguish their Fire Wall, fuck up their Ice Trap and pollute their Air Current.
edit: a ‘Name’ ≠ a silly label. you can have a really complex Name or a really simple Name as long as both understand the name.
