This week I decided to share not a excerpt from any WIP but a screenshot of what I started.

Reading Sunrise on the Reaping helped spur this new artwork. No, not a scene from the book, but this is inspired by a collaborative work featuring Rumitch. I haven't been as inspired to draw in like forever, most of my sketches/WIPs have been left unfinished. I was happy when I opened Krita and got the base done and more within an hour.

I mean, c'mon, this isn't a shock. They live rent free in my head. No context just them. 🥰

If the coal didn't kill you, starvation would. It was a place you never left and no one ever went to. Most people who were born there would die there. Such was life in the Seam of the coal mining Appalachia. All except for two people. Hope was a tragic thing for people here.
