Synopsis: 1940, Maine Ruby Lucas is 29 and officially a spinster. She had a great love in her high school sweetheart, Peter, who abruptly left her when he enlisted in the US Navy and hasn’t heard from him since. Hamish Abernathy has been alone for most of his life, the last thing he expects is the matriarch Mrs. Lucas to strike a deal for him to marry her granddaughter, a most unlikely pair. Neither one expected to marry and they definitely didn’t plan on love either.

2: What scene did you first put down?

This was not where it began. Not by a long shot. This was not home. This could never be home.

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?

Not sure this fic is special, but I love it as it is. I guess I'd have to say it's historical with a smattering of magic or myth. Doesn't make it special, but in the fic world of Hunger Games and OUAT, I think it makes it one of a kind.

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

Yes, there was. I came up with this idea when I was a teen, so just a few years ago (jk) trying to push myself outside my comfort zone. It did, but nothing ever came from it. I never got rid of the idea, even if I deleted a version of it. (Yeah, yeah, I know that's stupid, well I was a teen.) I may not have kept every version of my WIPs but I never get rid of any ideas. I write down every single silly idea. It may not be a fic or a one-shot, but I may be able to weave it into a mutli-chapter idea to fill it out.

Just some artwork I've been working on in hopes I'll get better at it as I go along. (It's very scary showing people my artwork/drawing, so this is me trying to be more brave.)

I went 25 years without drawing as some kind of protest because my aunt told me I was the artist. Because I'm me, I wasn't about to allow anyone to tell me who I was going to be, which is how I ended up writing. Now I'm reclaiming my love of art.
