6/19 - Mountain after mountain
Love the contrast between the pessimistic, frustrated verses and the soaring choruses onĀ āHear Comes My Girl.ā Petty knew something about how it feels to meet your significant other.
āThere are mountains after mountainsā is a Korean proverb. It means that thereās always, well, another mountain to climb. Every day brings its own difficulties. Some days come easier than others. Today started easy, but it quickly grew difficult. Things I thought I would work well in class didnāt, so I had to regroup and change direction. I think tomorrow will go better.
Rumspringerās 10ā³ album. I saw them in a basement in Milwaukee nearly a decade ago. I donāt remember the concert, but mustāve liked them enough to buy their record. And Iām glad I did, because these lyrics helped me get through some tough times:
āI donāt mind the way we stand because weāre all in this together
Itās a little offbeat and out of tune and it may not be forever,Ā
But if I can survive and create something Iām proud of,Ā
Then Iāll wade through the shit we stand in, no matter how consequentialā
Ā --āSpring Breakdown.ā
Itās Melodic punk rock with a sludgier-than-usual rhythm guitar and a chiming 2nd guitar.
Ā @soulmusicsongs: Thanks for postingĀ āPeace Is Gonna Come.ā I needed that good feeling this evening!
