my take on that super random shot of Perrin with Runai is that Luthen had Davo killed to protect Mon and the Rebellion, probably after she escaped Coruscant, because he knew the ISB would investigate the foundation and would link to Davo, Mon's in law

with their spouses either dead or public ennemy number 1 (special category of her own: Mon Mothma), and since Perrin probably had a rough go of it before the ISB decided he really did know nothing, he and Runai commiserated, had a drunken and depressed one night stand, maybe after Davo's funeral, and then they stayed together out of mutual pity and shared despair. they don't like each other, they like this thing they have even less, but it's all they have

Have long wondered if the gold dress Sculdun's wife is wearing in that final scene where she's slumped against Perrin is Mon's. Or at least--a subconscious attempt to look like her? Thoughts?

Ooh, what an interesting idea! I’ve never consciously connected it but now that you mention it it’s a pretty similar colour and has the similar pleating of Mon’s wedding dance dress.

I don’t think it’s necessarily implying that this was anything to do with Runai herself thinking this, even subconsciously, although it could indicate that. Maybe Perrin gave it to her! But as the costume design is part of the very intentional storytelling of Andor I wouldn’t be surprised if the authorial intent /Doylist reason is a bit of a callback to suggest that Perrin has ended up with, at the risk of being a bit cruel to Runai, a pale imitation of the woman who was part of his life for so long. It’s a very poignant interpretation, in fact. So thank you, that’s a great Ask!
