I may repeat myself every year by saying this, but it’s because it’s the truth. Every Runefest I go to, I meet more and more of you awesome scapers and ex-scapers out there. It’s the coolest feeling and means the world to me when someone either stops me for a chat, to say they like my videos/streams, or just for a short hey or a picture/signature. Having others I look up to in the community recognize me as well is great, and I feel extremely lucky to be in the position I’m in.
I started going to Runefests back in 2010, the first RuneFest held in the Dungeons of Vinopolis. I only knew two people and no jmods at the time, but I was accompanied by my Mom. I had never traveled out of Norway on my own before. Jump forward 6 years to this years runefest and so many nice people now come up to me, many jmods recognize me and I’m able to meet up with good friends of mine on my own.
I realize this could be coming across as bragging, but that’s not my intention. I’m writing about this because I realize how lucky I am, and it’s all thanks to you for either following me on social media or watching my videos and streams. I want to thank you all for being the most amazing and supportive people I know. The Runescape community will have good and bad sides like any community, but the community I know and the community who enjoy what I do are the nicest bunch of people I could ask for. I’m not at the level of fame many famous people are, but the dedication my followers have always impresses me. During the golden gnomes, I got a bit emotional and teared up a little (manly tears ofc) because of the sweetest message from my followers. I can’t do it justice without writing a ton, but in short they said it didn’t matter if I got a gnome because I had won their golden gnome for best friend anyone could ask for. I really couldn’t ask for a better bunch of people than you!
This is already far too long, so I’ll wrap it up. Thank you so much for helping me get this far. Thanks for supporting me through my good and bad times. Thanks to everyone who talked to me and made this Runefest the best one yet. Thanks to the Jmods who made this event possible. Thanks to the Jmods I got to meet and chat with during the event. It was an absolute blast and I hope to be at many more Runefests to come!
