Nooo don’t kill my favorite Yamanaka! How can you do this to your creations?! My heart can’t take it
Will you be doing the orichalcos episode where Atem loses Yugi, or in this case Youko? I know that’s a long way off but I watched the episode recently I can pictures Atem reacting a lot worse from losing his Light than he did with Yugi. Hope this doesn’t offend or annoy you by asking. I know some people don’t like being asked so if it does just let me know. I happily await the next chapter and I hope things are going well for you two!
Thank you so much for the ask! You’re our very first one and we’re so excited! (We both had a few moments of freaking out happily)
We have rough outlines for that arc and what will happen, it’s far enough away that things can change easily. Someone, or many someone’s, will NOT be happy with the situation tho, and that’s excluding Atem.
Thank you again for sending your ask! We love interacting with people and answering questions! So please send in any more that you have!
And no worries hun! We’re not offended or annoyed at all! We’re overjoyed in fact! Things are okay if busy, but we will do our best to get the next chapter out ASAP!

The response was getting too long, so I made it an actual post:
@runfromthemedic
How long does it generally take to plan out a chapter? My own style of writing is usually I know how I want it to start and I have a few scenes in my head that absolutely have to happen but everything in between is nonexistent. Trying to plan it out usually ends in a lot of confusion on my part. Any tips for planning out a story? — runfromthemedic
Plan a chapter...? Who even plans things? ^^;
Jokes aside, I guess our style of planning is probably mostly along the lines of a rough outline and a lot of brainstorming. Back when we first started out, we wrote down a bunch of ideas and kind of put them into something like a timeline/summary, and then - when we actually get to a chapter - we write down a list of things we'd like to happen, and then just go from there. Sometimes those things change or don't make the cut for that chapter, and are then moved to the next one for consideration.
That's roughly how it usually goes. We work in a shared google doc, so we can both add in things or suggestions along the way - sometimes our beta Moirei also gives us some feedback, which is always helpful, because we can sometimes get stuck on ideas that just end up going nowhere. But other than our lists and general notes on future events, it’s honestly just a lot of free-writing and going “hey, what do you think about this idea?” in the chat, and then discussing why or why not that would be a good idea.
My personal would be to just write your ideas down somewhere, where you can easily find them and expand on them, should any additions pop up. We’re not really the most organized people (or at least I’m not, I don’t know about Stars) and lord knows I don’t remember the names of half of the docs we’ve used to compile ideas in ^^;. Other than that, having a friend you can just talk with your story about is also a big help - brainstorm, imagine, get some feedback. It really does help a lot more than you’d might think.
I hope that helped! Good luck with your writing ^_^

When they where having the family discussion about spirits and puzzles in the last chapter you posted, did that include the other parents or just everyone with the name Mutou tacked on to their names? And on a mostly unrelated note, have y’all ever heard of Turkish puzzle rings? They can get up to as many as 12 bands and seem like something either Youko or Atem would like fiddling with when board.
Thanks for the question!
The main Parent Squad (Tea’s and Tristan’s parents) were present at that meeting, probably quietly freaking out with worry, but also suddenly realizing so many more things made sense after that. Roland/Isono, as well as the Fujioka family, will probably eventually suspect that something is up, but for now they’re not in on the secret.
I don’t know about Stars, but I haven’t until now. But doing a bit of googling, I think they look super cool, and you’re right! They do look like something those two would enjoy playing around with ^_^

How do y’all think Alecia and Atem would react to the girls telling them they’re pregnant? There was A LOT of forshadowing hints about princes 😏 and I know Hinata mentioned she could wait to be a mom. I figure it was kinda the same for Youko. So how do you think they would react?
So pairings are spoilers (and we have so many ships) and writing can go any way and anything could happen. So we’re giving you general reactions.
Atem:
He would be so overjoyed when his SO tells him that she’s pregnant. As Pharaoh is was his responsibility and duty to have an heir. He died young though. Growing up and before he died he always dreamed of having a SO and children of his own. He wanted a large, happy family of his own. So now that he is able, he is beyond happy that he is able to be a father (even if he’s terrified of being a parent.)
Akefia:
He’d honestly be in shock. He never imagined having a family or kids of his own. Especially after having lost his entire family and village to a massacre. He was very wary of having people to love and a family because he feared losing them all. He also didn’t have time or room for love and family, He was too consumed with revenge and rage. He wouldn’t know what to feel with the news his SO gives him. (Fear and uncertainty are what he feels for the longest time.)
Bonus-
Seto:
He would be happy. (he wouldn’t show it in an obvious way unless he was somewhere private) having grown up with such a large family and full house, Seto is used to it and somewhat expects it. He doesn’t necessarily want many kids though. (With their large family, there will be many kids in the future through his siblings) He would be happy with just a few. That was each child can get the love and attention they need. Hearing that his SO is pregnant would make him happy and he would thank them before sharing the news with the rest of the clan.
Grandpa reacting to great grandkids:
Grandpa loves his kids. All of them. They have brought him such joy and fulfillment in his old age. Hearing that his (grand)children are now expecting and preparing for their own families fills him with such joy. He weeps tears of happiness often and is so eager to meet his great grandchildren. (He also thanks the gods that he’s been gifted the blessing of seeing his great grandchildren)
Hinata:
She wants kids, wanted them in her first life and was so sad she never got any. She is happy that she still gets the chance and is ecstatic when she learns she’s pregnant. She wouldn’t hesitate to contact her SO and the rest of the family to share the wonderful news. She would immediately begin preparing and planning for her future child(ren).
Youko:
She doesn’t want kids of her own honestly and would take all precautions needed to prevent getting pregnant. (If something failed and she ended up pregnant she of course would have the child and raise it happily with the rest of her family helping) She adores children, loves interacting with them and seeing and holding them. Youko is more than ok with being the fun, weird aunt. (She’s a millennial and still vividly recalls the struggles of growing up and how unaffordable anything was. She knows she couldn’t handle raising a child at all. She just doesn’t have the emotional or mental support for children. (Even if she now has the financial support she didn’t in her first life) She gives what little she has to her large family.) She may one day adopt older children if she was ever in the place to though (she knows that there are many children who never get homes because of them being too “old” to adopt)
