An Overview of the Wednesday Night Run
Before I even started going to RunningWorks, a blunt was in order whenever you put Villa Heights into the conversation; it is a dangerous place and I act most normal when I'm stoned. Every Wednesday Night, myself and 1,000 other people trample through the streets of NoDa and Belmont on a weekly run benefiting OrthoCarolina (a orthopaedist I've gotten rave reviews for, but haven't went because Novant Health Charlotte Orthopaedic Hospital got 'er done faster and cleaner).
The following is the route for the ever popular 3-Miler.
Left on the Plaza- WATCH THE TRAFFIC
Right on Spencer- WATER STOP- (Believe me, you need it)
Bus Stop (unless you drive)
Without the people of RunningWorks, I wouldn't be making 3 mile runs in 30 minutes. I'd make it in 3 hours, but they motivates me indirectly to haul ass to make it far, fast. I think this is the most healthiest thing I have done since starting back smoking weed. The director of the programme, just did Badwater 135, for fuck's sake. That inspires me that if I want to run from my flat to Toronto, I can. If I want to run from my flat to Washington, DC, I can. If I want to run to the packie, I can.
By running, I have lost a lot of weight. My current weight is 185. This time last year, I was hitting 275.
