Sunday Funday 16 miler. I've tried to post from the tumblr app for week but it hasn't worked. Will this post??? 16 miles down the beach and around the Marina to Venice pier and back home. Legs up the wall post run. This week marks 11 years running. I've run every week for 11 years. That is so insane! Who knew that when I told my family I was going to join the LA Leggers back in 2006 to run the 2007 LA Marathon that it would lead to 11 years of running and Ironman??? Life is mysterious and beautiful.

#HappyRUNniversary to me‼️ 🏃🏾‍♂️It’s so weird…I had a crazy urge to keep on running today and while on my @strava app it reminded me that today is my 13th Year #Runniversary! Yes…year 13…and still going! So it made sense that I felt like running every time I was near a gym…lol! (AM at Chollas Lake …PM run and walk at @24hourfitness then one more run at @planetfitness !) On this day 8 years ago I ran my first 5k at the age of 40. The photo on the left was actually a few weeks later at my 2nd 5k, and on the right was after my run this morning. I remember being very nervous that I wouldn’t be able to finish the distance, but I did, and my time was faster than I expected.

Now 8 years, 6 marathons, an IM70.3 triathlon, and countless 5ks, 10ks, half-marathons, duathlons, and triathlons later, I realize how much that day changed my life. I am grateful for what I've found, including this Tumblr community from which I get so much support. Thank you!

Also, I’m convinced the hair-loss makes me aerodynamic.
