It’s been a long time since I posted anything here but I can formally present the Venombelly Warband (so far) in all their glory.
These 32 models are everything from when I first started painting at the end of 2024 through to now:
1x Runtherd and Gretchin
1x Mek Gun
1x Squad of Boys
1x Flash Gitz (I still need to base them, I know)
Made me a runtherd from a bunch of bits I had and a bit of greenstuff!

I also have the Combat Patrol waiting for me but I have set myself a firm rule that I want to get all my Grots painted before I start any of the Orks.
I’m using the Grots to teach myself mini painting basics, using each mini to try something new and I’m very pleased with my progress so far.
Every grot has been named and numbered but I don’t know if I’ll continue naming every model once I start on the Orks just because this is an exponential hobby.
Hobbying was successful!
I got 17 models built (15 grots, one Runtherd and a Mek Gun) and 11 of those primed.
Tomorrow there will be more priming and then I will actually dip my toes into painting for the first time.
LOL.
I got so excited about painting my ‘first’ Ork that I clean forgot that I also received mail earlier today.
Four boxes of minis: Ratlings and Kommandos Kill Teams, and 2x Runtherd and Gretchin.
The Ratlings are my first planned-from-scratch kitbash / conversion to make a Grots Kill Team.
(I have no current plans to play 40k at all, but I feel like I should look into how I would run a kitbash / conversion in a game just because)
The Kommandos Kill Teams is just me adding more Boyz to my collection, although the inclusion on a Grot Kommando in the team was the single factor that motivated me to actually buy this kit at all.
The second box of Grots is just for spare bits
