@russianlullabies for a Death Day !
Jason was down by the docks, watching the sun rise behind the horizon of the water. He knew better than to sleep. Sleep gave Joker an in, filled his lungs with smoke, and allowed green to creep into his mind. He’ll sleep when he passes out from exhaustion, mind too numb and tired to function.
But what he didn’t expect, was for a little boy to stumble into view, a safe distant away but looking like he’s wanting to talk. Jason wiped the tears from his eyes, forgetting when he even actually began to cry. Forgetting when the sun has found it’s place in the sky. He cleared his throat, trying to dislodge the sob that suck in it’s throat.
“Hey kid,” His voice cracked, and he tried to clear it again, “What’re you doin’ out here by yourself?”
