How long have you been a Russophile?

Birth.

No, but in all seriousness, I wish more people would ask me about my love for Russia. I feel like it’s weird for me to just randomly start talking about, because then they might think it’s a new thing/propaganda with all that’s been going on but I digress.

I’ve had a love for Russia probably since I was a little girl. I love the culture, the language, the rich history. It’s so much more fascinating than American history… so much more storied. I don’t know… I just feel so attached to that country, the people, even though I’m so far removed from them.

I love Russia and always will. Nothing could make me hate her. 🩷

Time for my elementary translation. I cheated by already seeing the English translation beforehand, but “все будет хорошо” definitely means “everything will be fine.” I think “не грусти“ means “Don’t worry”, because I already saw that in the translation. I don’t know how to translate пока. 

The replies to this Tweet, from Telekanal Дождь show the sadness of Russians at seeing a husband and wife unjustly separated. Several say, они, which means “they”, but I think this is in the context of “them”. Some say, “Я рыдаю”, which means “I cry” (or “I am crying?”). (I learned that verb from Church Slavonic /Old Bulgarian).

NO. 😭 Do not remind me of this most unfortunate fact. I wish I had the money and time… and that there wasn’t a whole ass conflict going on right now. I’d love to see St. Petersburg because I desperately want to visit the Alexander Palace. Gatchina. Anichkov. Hermitage. Oh, I’d be in heaven.

I love Russian art, folklore, music, language, clothing, nature and the Russian soul!

I love these things so much than I can feel them in my soul, in my heart. It's been like this since I was 13.

There's much more to Russia than Putin, guys.
