THE HAND ON THE BACK OF THE NECK. it’s an incredibly possesive gesture 

the way russ basically drops his head into milt’s shoulder like a baby goat doing a headbutt

milt turns his head until he’s basically muttering into russ’s hair/ear?

i just finished the finale and? goddamn it was pretty much everything i could have hoped for (tons of russton, kidnapped togther, robert sean leonard, emotional milt, FLASHBACK MILT)

PLUS, at the end, when russ drops his head onto milt’s shoulder and they’re both laughing, MILT’S HAND? it doesn’t just go around for the hug, no, hiS HAND ENDS UP ON THE BACK OF RUSS’S HEAD, practically combing through his hair D:< god they’re such gay dorks

(and also the phrase “milt/russ forever” made me think of a battle creek/forever crossover in which mysterious immortal m.e. milton grabs the attention of hardass head detective russ)
