I found these few old drawings, I know I'll never finish it so might as well share with you guys. I wanted to make HC AU where each of them are robots and Grian is the only robot who survived because everyone else were either covered in rust or stopped working due to lack of power. And Grian would fix them one by one.

I believe there should be more somewhere but idk

I'll use it as an opportunity to introduce Mumbo Jumbo design! (made by wonderful @alibraryperson)

Mumbo is a bio scientist, who worked in the local greenhouse lab. The field of his research was the remaining species of flora on the planet (mushrooms, mosses and other plants). Naturally he's moving around the greenhouse by special tracks, like his other co-workers, so canonically his body doesn't have legs. When Mumbo met Grian, Grian made him legs himself, which is not perfect, but it does the job.

Mumbo's story: He was locked in his office after the big energy catastrophe. Knowing that the electricity soon will run out, he implanted a special thing into himself: THE INFINITE POTATO.

This potato is the only Mumbo's energy source. It is powerful enough to power him for decades and more. This special potato is one of a kind and it cannot reproduce.

Just like that, Mumbo was the only one left in the greenhouse lab when the power sources died.

Also, by many experiments, he created "Treesa" - a living tree monster that walks around the overgrown greenhouse lab and collects all that her creator needs. Mumbo also has the ability to talk to plants by making strange noises, which only plants can understand.

Rustarium was inspired by two games by amanita design: Machinarium and Creacks.

The story would be:

Grian wakes up in a landfill. All what's left from his body is his head, anything else would be broken or not functional. So at first he moves around like this:

Clumsy he walks around to find something. He made himself a body from more or less working parts that he could find in the landfill, except for the hands. There was a box that was labelled as hands, but... well, he can't read. Also he found an old oversized sweater to cover his body.

It's too big for him, but he likes it anyway.

Then he would finally go in direction of the city to try and find someone else. After some time he would find Mumbo and stay with him for a while. He would fix him as he can (it's barely working, but it's working and that's what matters XD)

It's good that Grian works on sun energy but he will need to find other sources of energy to help everyone else.

There's like reference sheets for Mumbo, Scar and some doodles of other guys somewhere, I think :P

But yes, he is missing a leg, so he uses one of his hands as a crutch. And of course Jellie is there! She's always near him :3 I like to think that Scar made her out of materials and details that were laying around and maybe even some of his own, so they're a real family :)
