Heather is a Contributing Editor for Country Living Magazine. There is so much in her photo, despite its diminutive size, that quietly defines the fall season. There are mums, of course, and loads of them, in those gorgeous rich yellows and oranges that are fall staples. The mums fill the shell of an antique settee that clearly was, in its day, an ornate beauty . The settee is bare of any traditional upholstery, yet its rustic wood bones, some carved, some plain, easily meld with the fall landscape. But what really caught our eye, and what makes Heather's photo so unique, is that she uses the mums as a brilliantly colorful cushion for that old, proud settee.
