Renowned Spinal Surgeon Treats Rusty Rham
Russell “Rusty” Rahm is an accomplished entrepreneur who serves as CEO of direct marketing services company Leading Edge Technology Strategies. A champion powerboat racer, Rusty Rahm underwent a successful artificial disc replacement (TDR) surgery at the Center for Spine and Orthopedics (CSO) in Denver, Colorado. He returned to powerboat racing only two months after surgery. Performing the operation was Dr. Michael Janssen, a good friend of Mr. Rahm and the founder of CSO. Dr. Janssen was one of the first surgeons in the United States to perform TDR. He began performing TDR in 2006 when the Food and Drug Administration approved ProDisc, a total disc replacement procedure. Dr. Janssen has since performed over 1,000 complex TDR surgeries. Over 150 surgeons from all over the world have received TDR surgery training under Dr. Janssen. He published an article in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, November 2015 edition, regarding TDR surgery’s long-term results. Like Mr. Rahm, Dr. Janssen engages in offshore powerboat racing.
