RW: Journey AU | Local Group Designs - Moon's Scarf Concepts
Ever since I came up with a name for my Rain World iterator-off-the-string AU—the "Journey" AU—I've wanted to start sharing a bit more about it. However, this time I also wanted to try something a bit different with the format by incorporating typed text in addition to my handwritten notes on the drawings. I'd appreciate any feedback on how it looks!
Regardless, I decided to make some concepts for a design trait I've thought of giving to Journey Moon: a piece of Sig's scarf, which she'd wear to represent both their officially entering a romantic relationship and her learning to express her true feelings more openly. Outfit modifications that happen over the course of the story are something I've wanted to explore for a while as a unique way to differentiate my Local Group designs from other fans' without heavily changing their normal on-the-string outfits. I thought this one could happen relatively early, yet have a pretty major impact due to the cultural tie-in I was considering giving it. Plus, I just think the idea of Moon wearing a piece of Sig's scarf to show how much she loves him—and how happy she is to love him—is really cute!
What do you think of this style of AU concepts going forward? And what do you think of the idea itself? I definitely had more fun than I expected coming up with this Ancient "proposal braid" headcanon!
