No wait, I'm a moron, the Master probably said he knew the Doc when she was a man because he did, as Missy and Simm!Master and all the others before that. But I like the idea of him hanging around MI6 just waiting.
What’s great about this episode is that rewatching it completely changes your perspective on everything. Little throwaway lines actually mean so much and indicate towards O being The Master in such a beautifully subtle way that suddenly becomes so obvious once you have seen what they are building up towards. The continuous references to the history between O and The Doctor, how he knows so much about her and has so much information on her, and yet also how willing he is to reveal all this information to her fam against her wishes, despite supposedly being her friend. How he conveniently had all this equipment to try and combat and fight against those light creatures and how he reacted to the Tardis in such a hilariously understated way. Something I also noticed was that C’s last word after being shot was “Oh” and The Doctor had just asked who was behind it all, which could in itself be a coincidence but at this point I feel like nothing is a mistake. I love that it’s all there for us to see but difficult to understand without knowing what it is we’re looking for and I think Chibnall is a genius for it.
I'm so nervous for the fam :/ i think its pretty much confirmed that next season they're not all gonna be companions anymore but idk if we're gonna start with a brand new companion or if one of the fam maybe stays? I could see something happen to ryan & graham deciding to retire bc of it. Or graham sacrifices himself for ryan & he decides to quit since he and the doctor seem to be butting heads a bit lately. But i dont feel like yaz would voluntarily stop traveling?Idk i just hope no one dies😭
What’s crazy is that we just don’t know. With recent companion departures we’ve known that they are leaving, it has more been a matter of how. This time literally anything could happen and I’m ngl it’s so stressful to watch but it’s also the best way to watch imo. What’s also unnerving is that there are signs pointing to every single one of them that any of them could be the one to leave, if not all of them.
And who knows, maybe it will be none of them (that would be the biggest twist to be honest but I really can’t see that happening). Basically it’s a lot and I’m scared for them but also kinda excited to see the high stakes and emotion that it brings as well as how amazing Jodie’s acting is going to be throughout it all (because of course it will be).
The thing is though, to the Doctor's original people, she may not actually be called a girl? We don't know too much about it, but what if her original people were one gendered? Due to regeneration they were one gendered and asexual and like the creature from Jon Pertwee's adventures, Alpha Centauri? The Doctor and their original people may be intersex because of the ability to regenerate. Just a suggestion I'm putting out there. Don't hate me.
Yeah this is a good point tbh and Twelve pointed out that the Time Lords were way beyond our human conceptions of gender so being male or female or anything else probably isn’t even a factor for them. Other people have also pointed out that we don’t know for sure that the first incarnation of the Timeless Child that we see is actually the first incarnation so I suppose there’s that but either way, I love the visual sense of inclusion that was chosen to be portrayed on screen and I think it should be celebrated without getting into the details of what it might or might not be 🤷♀️
you're getting me so pumped for this new episode! i'm so excited to see what happens!!!!
I haven’t lost my fucking mind like that over an episode of Doctor Who for years like I can’t even stress to you what a rollercoaster ride that was.
Good luck 😉
I'm guessing shattering means there will be tears and screaming, be the finale good or bad. Basically: Be afraid, be very afraid.
I’d expect nothing less tbh. It wouldn’t be Doctor Who without all of it 😂
there was someone who said the fam was spotted filming the holiday special so i don't think ? the fam will die
Yeah I’ve seen a couple of people mention this but I’m still sceptical about it since I haven’t seen much on it and I just don’t see how all of them can still be around after this finale? It’s not like I don’t want all of them to survive because I love them all, but I feel like the show has been indicating and pointing towards some sort of character departure or death and it would feel strange if it didn’t happen. Plus I’m looking forward towards the emotion and character development that it could bring if it does happen.
how dare you give me feelings of thirteen lying on the ground looking broken this finale is gonna kill me i think and i can't wait
Thirteen is going to snap and Jodie is going to absolutely slay us all with her acting I’m so excited to see it I’ve been waiting since her reveal as The Doctor for this to happen.
But I also want to protect her at all costs and will fight anyone who hurts her. It’s complicated.
